My favorite space-faring warship is the Defiant, first introduced in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It's the first real warship built by the Federation in the original timeline, and is the lead ship of the Defiant class of warships. It became a pivotal ship in the wars in the later seasons of Deep Space Nine. It's fast, agile, heavily armed, heavily shielded, and has a cloaking device (the first legal one in the Federation). Without family quarters, science labs, or holodecks, it is smaller than many Starfleet ships, but the most heavily armed ship in Starfleet. As Commander Riker said, "It's a tough little ship."
