Introduction to Age Rings
I recently spent a year taking online classes to complete the necessary credits to get my Master of Fine Arts degree. At age 56, with 150 published novels under my belt, it might seem strange to dedicate the time and expense to getting a degree, but having an MFA is a bureaucratic requirement before I’m allowed to teach grad-level classes in college.
While completing busywork writing to fulfill the MFA requirements, I took every opportunity to write flash fiction that I could actually publish somewhere. The brief story below was written for a Flash Fiction class.
